Match the platform generation
A title may connect PC with current-generation consoles while leaving older versions outside that pool. Do not treat a game name as a guarantee that every release joins the same races.
Racing games are a mixed bag for crossplay: sim-racing titles and big arcade racers often connect PC and consoles so leagues can race together, but many others keep their online lobbies platform-locked. If you and your friends are on different systems, check here first before buying a wheel and committing to a season.
