1Confirm the edition and the player count
A Friend’s Pass may let one owner invite one partner, but it is not a general licence for the whole group. Check whether the game is designed for two players, supports a demo, or needs every person to own a copy.
2Separate ownership from online access
One player owning the full game can be enough for a pass-based session. Online console play can still require the relevant platform subscription for both people.
3Set up the invitation path in advance
Cross-platform co-op can require linked publisher accounts, an in-game friend list and an enabled crossplay privacy setting. “We are friends on the console” may not be enough.
